Darex began in 1973 in Beecher, Illinois. The D, A and R of Darex are the initials of three generations of the Bernard family; David, Arthur and Richard Bernard. David and his father Richard, founded Darex. Grandfather Arthur Bernard, who earlier founded the Bernard Welding Company, contributed his energy and guidance to Darex. In 1978, Darex relocated to Ashland, Oregon where they are located today. Darex has since grown to produce the world’s best selling industrial drill sharpeners.
Whether a shop does high-tech mass production, or creative custom fabrication, there’s a Darex drill sharpener that will help lower tool costs and make those tough jobs run smoothly.
Darex offers a wide range of sharpeners from the popular V-390 for smaller shops, the E-90 end mill sharpener, the versatile XT-3000, up to the latest sharpener from Darex, the fully automatic XPS-16 which is designed for shops that demand the ultimate in precision and productivity. The high capacity XPS-16 is the only machine in the world that can automatically detect the drills length, diameter, and web thickness – then sharpen the drill – all in one continuous process without operator involvement.
