A solution to a throwaway society

In many ways throughout most civilised countries in the world, we’ve become something of a throwaway society. As market pressures force the price of many everyday commodities down, the tendency is to replace rather than refurbish or repair, but is this always the most cost-effective option? In manufacturing circles, drills are often discarded once they become worn, but there is an alternative as Dave Tudor found out when he spoke to Darex’s Lorelei Frye-Wiltrout at MACH 2010.

Darex® began in 1973 in Beecher, Illinois. The D, A, and R of Darex are the initials of three generations of the Bernard family; David, Arthur and Richard Bernard. David and his father Richard founded Darex. Grandfather Arthur Bernard, who earlier founded the Bernard Welding Company, contributed his energy and guidance to Darex. In 1978, Darex relocated to Ashland, Oregon where they are located today.

Automated Drill sharpening at low cost

Darex is proud to introduce the XT-3000 Auto Drill Sharpener. This new sharpener completely automates the drill sharpening function of the already versatile XT-3000. This will enable faster, and more consistent sharpening of many types of drills. The XT is already a workhorse sharpener with capability to not only sharpen drills but also countersinks, brad points, left hand drills, and more. This new feature will allow the user to simply align the drill, and push the start button, then let auto sharpening feature regrind the bit to specs within ANSI standards.

Westec Show a Great Success

Darex has recently returned from the Westec Tradeshow in Los Angeles, CA with exciting results. Darex was featuring the newest advancements in drill grinding technology with the introduction of the XT-3000 Auto Sharpener. Along with this introduction the sales staff were also promoting and demonstrating the rest of the Darex line of cutting tool sharpeners.
